If l am gonna buy a car soon, should l get a 09 Jetta or a 09 Lancer?

How about a 08 Jetta?

could you explain a little? why is Lancer better and why is Jetta better?

What is ina Lancer that a Jetta do not have that makes you feel like buying a Lancer?

The Lancer has a more comfortable interior, it looks more sporty, and its WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY more fun to drive.

The 2009 Lancer is better with interior, features, & warranty reliablity. The 2008 Jetta only has 170 HP as for 2009 Lancer 2.4L has 162 HP, so theirs a near 10 HP difference there. The exterior. the Lancer wins hands down with sportier look & shark nose. The Jetta looks like the new Corollas besides its bigger looking from side view(which also a nice car to have). The Lancer features/options have a 9-speaker bose set, paddle shifters only for CVT, a touchable 30gb harddrive & l think has 6 cd changer with full GPS system, SIRIUS Satelliate radio, & eventually will come out with projection headlights, an all wheel contraction(some sort) & rain wiper senors. As for 08/09 Jetta, it mainly & mostly have exterior options for increasing appearance like spoiler, lip, wheels, etc. as for options & features.

Overall, the 2009 Lancer GTS 2.4L with full options & features for or around $22,000 is ur best bet for great daily driving & comfort. Or if u really do not care about all that neat stuff for the new Lancers, go for 09 Jetta 2.5L 170-HP & tune it up to have more HP in performance.

Plus, Mitsubishi warranty is really nice as well.

The Jetta is just a Golf (Europe) / Rabbit (USA) in the form of a saloon & it is extremely overpriced. The ride is terrible & frankly its a waste of Volkswagen is money & the buyers money.

The Lancer is an amazing car, it looks a lot better, the styling is sharper, the ride in the Lancer is superb & Mitsubishi r not as stingy as VW with standard equipment.

The Lancer is a hell of a lot faster. It makes a lovely noise when floored but when cruising, its silent. The Jetta always sounds like you're thrashing the engine.

But it rests on what u get for ur money & the styling. The Jetta looks ok but does not make u go wow. The Lancer does make u go wow, especially a Red or Blue one.

I'd go with a Lancer if l were you.

The Lancer, mostly because it looks better. The Jetta ends up looking puny, while the Lancer is rather aggressive. Also, Japanese cars tend to be easier to maintain.

The Jetta, as placid and herbivorous as it looks, has it is good sides. For one, the interior is not as modern and harsh as the Lancer's, and it is German engineering. And German engineering is top.

European cars = higher maintenance and repair cost.
Japanese cars= lower cost of repair and maintenance.
My son has a 2002 Audi A4 1.8 Quattro, which is also one of VW is products. This thing is nothing but a wallet burner. You can not fix it yourself, it is a dealer is repair service. Anyway, it is about a personal taste, If you like European car and you have lots of cash for maintenance and repairs, go for it.

Jetta is not coming out with a new model until 2010 model year. But even then there will be minor changes in the front fascia & the tail.
l really like the Jetta. I've rented one & it was quite nice to drive. The interior is really nicely equipped even with the base model that I've rented. It had the 5 cylinder 2.5 L engine. It was a bit noisy though in full throttle. It is a car l would consider definitely.
The new Lancer is just a sight to behold. l love the bold design & the aggressive look. The interior is not quite as nice as the Jetta but it is definitely better than the previous generation Lancer. l am not quite sure about the new engine (4B11). It still has to prove it is worth. The 2.4L MIVEC engine on the GTS (4B12) is strong & zippy on regular driving conditions. It is also spacious in the cabin. Getting the Rockford Fosgate stereo system for this car is the s#it.
Between the 2, l would get the Lancer. The predicted reliability of this car is a lot better than the Jetta's. Volkwagen has been plagued with reliability issues specially with the Jetta & Beetle. The Jetta is predicted reliability has been worse than average according to Consumer Reports. This coming of course from an annual survey done by the organization from the car owners themselves & not from the dealers.
