l drive a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse gt. the front center speaker has recently become static. how do l get in there to unhook the speaker until l buy a new one. l would rather do it myself than go somewhere. thanks
if l moved the balance towards the back of the car l dont get any sound from the other 2 front speakers. l dont like when l dont have sound from the other front speakers

Is not better to move the balance control of the radio to the good speaker instead?

Unfortunately, to get at that center speaker is a hassle. You need to remove the steering wheel, instrument panel, and parts of the dash just to get to two bolts that hold the panel over the speaker in place. Why they designed it like this is frustrating.

''EASY AS PIE'' ''FIVE MINUTES'' There r two bolts at the bottom of the cover to the stereo remove those & the cover comes of & then there r two bolts holding the plastic piece that houses the speaker ok then plastic piece pops off the part that displays the radio info. just pull it up toward the windshield & the disconnect the speaker. l did the same thing, & l talked to some pro is that said having the speaker facing the windshield is stupid so leave it off l did the same thing with mine two years ago.
