l know the mustang GT is fast cuz l test drove . but l test drove the eclipse GT today and maaaan that thing is fast too! cant make up my mind. help me out. eclipse 268hp 16/26 mpg. mustang 300hp 15/23 mpg. eclipse comes with standard stability control, mustang doesnt have that option. eclipse has sunroof. mustang dont. but 300hp is greaaat. help me people

l have owned an eclipse, and they arent all they are cracked up to be.

But then again, neither is the mustang..

Make the decision by the availability of aftermarket parts.

(hands down, the mustang will always have more power)

l think you'd find that RWD in the Mustang is more fun than FWD in the Eclipse once u bought one car over the other. I'd go with the Mustang. If u floor it & break the rear drive wheels loose in the Mustang u can still steer the car. If u floor it & break the front wheels loose in the Eclipse u can not steer it at all.

The gas mileage will only matter if u do not drive either car hard. If l bought a fast car, l KNOW I'd get on it constantly..why else buy a fast car?

If u live in a snowy climate, the Eclipse is probably a better choice - FWD combined with stability control is easier to manage in the snow than RWD, but in non-snowy weather the Mustang will be way more fun IMO (and the Mustang is faster too.look up the test numbers in Car & Driver or Road & Track etc., on-line to see the difference analytically.)

l like mustangs more

They are both fun in a straight line, but neither handles well (Eclipse due to it is FWD torque steer and Mustang becuase it is heavy and has a joke of a suspension).

l dont like neither, l say a used S2000 be best and it will maintain the resell value also.

I'd go with the 'stang.

eclipse is a girly car anyways. l own a 99 eclipse so l know lol.

plus. if l EVER had a choice between a mustang and an eclipse.. it'd be the stang without a doubt.

u could do soo much to it, without overdoing it.
