l just bought a 2000 eclipse GS from an individual yesterday. and for some odd reason the alarm goes off randomly at night time.. what could cause this, im almost 100% sure nobody is messing with it. It goes off, then l go check it out turn it off and shake my car really bad and mess with the door handle and l cant get it to go off again. Can l turn the sensitivity down if it is the stock alarm.?

hrms. not really sure. never had that problem with mine. u could try reseting ur ecu, it helps sometimes but its not always a forsure. & if u have the stock radio, DON'T FORGET TO HAVE YOUR RADIO CODE HANDY. cuz they charge u at the stealership for a new one.

but what u do is u take off ur negative terminal on ur battery for a few mins(2-3mins should be fine) & then put it back on & start ur car up. it should reset, & it might solve ur problem. if not it might be the install that someone did. there is a way to reset ur alarm with the remote but its been so long l do not remember anymore

if this does not work (i'm not so sure myself :P but its worth a shot & its free). u can try asking at the forums. someone will have a bit more info on it there. since its vehicle specific. try the website l posted below they r very informative & u will learn a lot more about ur car, well good luck to u then :D
