It needs a new engine.How much does it cost to do that?I am looking at cars whatever l get will be my first.I am just trying to figure out how much the typically costs and whether its worth it or not.The car is $700.l would have to get it done somewhere because I am 17 and have no car knowledge whatsoever.Thanks!

It would cost $1500 to get it done. A 1995 Eclipse in good condition is not even worth $2000.

For the price u will pay to get it done, u could've bought a Turbo 1st Generation (1990-1994) Eclipse that runs & drives, but then again with no knowledge of cars it would not be a good choice as they r maintenance queens & will nickle & dime u like crazy. Plus, since that car is a GS that means it has a Chrysler 420A engine & Chrysler Automatic Trans. To be frank, it is hard to use the words Chrysler, Automatic, & Transmission all in a positive sentence.

If u want a good first car that u wo not need to work on much, get a Honda Civic. It will be way more reliable than an Eclipse & get better fuel Economy. If u can not do the work yourself, it is going to cost a lot more money.

Get the job done right & buy a new one.
