do you have an evo 8 and what do you like about it

l have an Evo 9, but they're essentially the same thing aside from the MIVEC system & the slightly upgraded 20g turbo.

My friend drives an Evo 8 & there is not that big of a difference between the two cars.

As for my car, l LOVE IT.

It is been 2 years since l first got it & every time l look at it, l am still as excited to see it as the day l got it.

The car corners well, accelerates well, It seats 5 people- COMFORTABLY! It is got good head space, good trunk space, & if u drive it nice n easy, u can get almost 30mpg with it. (I've done it)
The Evo is better to upgrade than the ST l if u want big power.

Be weary, this is a driver is car. You're sacrificing low insurance costs, gas mileage, comfort, safety, & dependable clutches for this car.

And the police hate us.

they are amazing reliable godly mpg and insurance is cheap :D

after spending a considerable amount of time in a 8 l found it to be great as a potential track car for hpde or autox,if ur looking to heavily modify
for big numbers its a good base & excels in those catagories

the down sides as said before are,ride quality,interior quality & comfort,road noise,insurance cost,MPG etc

the other option in its class witch can be found at a similar cost with similar downsides is the sti l chose the subaru over the evo because l needed more of a dual duty car l felt the ride quality was a little better & the interior was better. & functioned better for daily use

if was younger had more disposable income & planned to be at the track more l most likley would've bought the evo 8

the best thing u can do is get some seat time in the car as alot of people r not ready for how stiff these cars are,join a forum like evom & talk to local owners.

l just recently sold my evo 8 l bought l brand new in 04 and loved it.. in stock form it very quick for every day driving, also fun in the canyons .. it was very easy to make additional hp with a small amount of money..

to the first answer..the 9 does not come stock with a 20g its a big 16g

l have a 05 blue by u evo. It is an amazing car. stock for stock there is not really much that can contend with it in its price range. Like the other person said its a drivers car, not a cruiser. It has some of the most beautiful lines of any smaller car on the market in the past & today, no matter where l go there r always people asking to take pictures of it or asking me to look at it.
