Ok so it started when my break light was dimly lit while running/driving.l found my brake fluid was low and l filled it but the light persisted.a few days later the battery light came on dimmly and l stalled out.got a jump start and barley made it home by reving the engine at stops.So l purchased a new battery and installed it (autozone testedmy old one and said it was bad).It started and seemed to be ok but the lights were still on.l attempted to drive to work when l got off the highway and slowed at a red light my oil light came on as well and my guages began to drop and the car died.l tried to start it but got nothing...pulled over and called a tow truck.l tried turning it over and it would run for a few seconds the battery guage would fluxuate then die with same symptoms.Oh and btw oil level is good.So now what.... Replace altenator or check wires/fuses?terminals to battery are very clean they fit snug but can not get em real tight so Im gonna replace anyway.

basically mitsubishi was good back in the day but now they suck

best option?

dont pay for a fix and upgrade to either:
Subaru (WRX models amazing)
Toyota
Honda

My diagnosis is the alt. When they go bad, it affects everything electrical. A grounded alt makes lights flicker or come on weak like you described. You can not charge the battery while running, drains your battery and you replaced that, now that you are dead again, my guess is the alt.

Mr Know, l would replace the alt. 90% chance that is your problem and if you havent replaced it ever, it will be a problem sometime soon.

Sorry buddy cars r something else another language to me l am a computer geek. BUT excited to say those symptoms remind me of when my alternator broke down on me. & now this morning my car did not want to start either. So l dont know what today is but when my alternator went out. l jump started the car & it came back to a stop l bought a new battery & compltely killed the battery because the alternator drained it. The alternator is suppose to recharge the battery but my alternator failed to do so when l jump started the car. Also check ur fuses, u main fuse might be burnt. But mainly check alternator & get a new battery too. Best of luck to you.
